    What is Pi Kappa Alpha?

Pi Kappa Alpha is a general, secret, social college fraternity. With the purpose of fostering friendship, leadership and community involvement, Pi Kappa Alpha is one of North America's premier fraternities.

Pi Kappa Alpha is dedicated to:
    • Scholastic Excellence
    • Leadership Opportunities
    • Athletic Competition
    • Service to Community
    • Success Beyond the Undergraduate Years
    • Lifetime Friendships

    Why PIKE?
Joining a fraternity is a personal decision that only you can make. Many people join a fraternity for the social aspects. Joining the Greek system will mean gaining access to a whole network of friends and opportunities that one does not get without joining. The Greek system is filled with individuals in dozens of fields of interests and majors. Greeks are members of virtually every organization on campus and in many cases, leaders and/or presidents of these organizations.

Membership in Pi Kappa Alpha gives students the opportunity to make the most of their college experience. Perhaps the best opportunity that Pi Kappa Alpha provides is the ability to cultivate a socially superior man.

Pi Kappa Alpha challenges its members to be the pillars of integrity and beacons of success on their college campuses and within their communities.  Pikes experience what it means to be involved and responsible individuals who promote community services, active campus involvement, and high standards of academic achievement.

Most importantly, Pi Kappa Alpha provides an opportunity to set yourself apart. Whether it's on the athletic field, in the classroom or in campus leadership positions, Pi Kappa Alpha will have a presence.

Pi Kappa Alpha has achieved its success by attracting the highest quality individuals. The men who represent PIKE have made the decision to make the most of their college careers. From the youngest person ever to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor to countless CEOs and United States Congressmen, Pi Kappa Alpha members have set themselves apart.

The challenge is to hold yourself to a higher standard, to stand out and make the most of the opportunities the college experience presents. Competition, pride and superior organization drive the members of Pi Kappa Alpha to hold themselves to a higher standard - often, the results are historic.

College is what you make of it; the competitive edge drives Pi Kappa Alpha to lead the fraternity world, and individuals to accomplish great things. Men who want to get the most out of their experience at the University of Minnesota and life, should consider the many benefits of Pi Kappa Alpha.

  • Joining PIKE:

  • Ben Blaska: I joined PIKE in the fall of '09 and haven't regretted it once. PIKE has improved me as a person already in such a small amount of time and that is due to the high standards the fraternity obtains and abides by. Some key things I am involved with through PIKE are intramural sports, recruiting and doing community service. Pi Kappa Alpha gives me opportunities that are hard to come by and I look forward to having the best college career possible and that is due mostly to PIKE.

  • Ben Ringhofer: I joined PIKE fall semester of my freshman year and have been going strong ever since. I am currently the Internal Vice President. I joined PIKE because of the opportunity I saw. PIKE wasn't like the other chapters; each person was different and each person brought something unique to the table. PIKE has provided me with unlimited opportunity and growth. I have developed as a person, both personally and professionally because of PIKE. Without PIKE my life would be no where near it is today.

  • Garrett Schaefer: I was a spring semester freshman when I joined PIKE. So far, I have never made a better decision in my life. I have given back to the house by assuming the roles of pledge class president, social chairman, brotherhood chairman, and housing manager. I have spent three semesters and two summers living in PIKE, and have had amazing times all throughout. My younger brother Connor now lives in the bonds as well, and I could not be more proud of him. I intend to continue to encourage family and friends to be a part of PIKE because we are truly life changing.

  • Pierce Conway: Pike has changed my life and has made me into a better person and its only been a few months. I get more and more involved and will put everything I can into it to make sure we stay the top house on campus. I love Pike for its leadership opportunities, campus involvement, athletics, networking connections, the relationships you make that you cant get anywhere else and of course the social stuff. The list of what Pike gives you is truly infinite. SLAG for life!

  • Brandt Tharp: Joining Pike is becoming one of the best decisions I've ever made. Pike has given me excellent opportunities for leadership, chances to make a difference within the community and, of course, the awesome relationships I've developed with my brothers.
